Purists may have hated it, but the 'Soda Squirt' just looked the archetypal thirties sports car with its long flowing wings, cutaway doors and that slab tank tail. Superb power to weight and performance to pound ratios were the result, and who cared if the handling was tricky in extremis, the car only cost £395.
