STANDARD VANGUARD III
Saloon, estate car.
The Vanguard goes unitary, with forward-mounted engine and a roofline 3 1/2ins lower: it's also lighter and higher-geared, which spells more mph and mpg. Usual overdrive option, and now automatic as well, from '57. De Luxe models have bigger brakes and hooded headlamps. Estate from '56.
