STANDARD VANGUARD PHASE I
Saloon, 4-door estate car.
Tough six-seater hack (its styling aped Plymouth) with wet-liner engine, all-synchro three-speed 'box, hydraulic brakes, coil ifs and separate chassis. Prototype's 1.8-litre engine never produced commercially; convertibles (by Imperia) in Belgium only. Rear wheel spats '50, over-drive (top only) option during that year; new grille, bigger rear window and lower bonnet line for 1952.
