STANDARD VANGUARD PHASE II

Saloon, 2-door estate car, 4-door estate car.

Same chassis and indestructible power train, but saloons now of notchback type with extra overhang; also more headroom and luggage space. Hydraulic clutch, left-hand column shift (also on Phase I from 1950). Handling as awful as ever, but better than 30mpg with optional overdrive (on second and top) from January '54. Estate continues into '56.
