TRIUMPH 1500 (1970-73)

4-door 4-seater saloon.

For the seventies the 1300 was up-gunned, given lengthened and more elegant styling and new facia. 61bhp with single-carb tune offered 85mph and 28mpg, with wood and deep carpets, still with front-wheel drive. Recognisable by four headlamp style soon to be shared with Dolomites. Good but not outstanding, and still the only Triumph front-drive design. Replaced by the rear drive 1500TC for 1974.
