TRIUMPH 2000 Mk2

4-door 5-seater saloon/estate car.

Face-lifted version of original 2000 (of 1963-69), incorporating longer nose and tail but same passenger cabin, smart new facia/instrument layout, and better trim. Still with servo-assisted front discs and all-independent suspension, silky six-cylinder engine (84bhp) and optional overdrive or automatic transmission. The head-on competitor to Rover's 2000, and a real middle-class executive car in all respects. Carbodies-built estate car was not very spacious. Replaced, in the end, by Rover 2300.
