A complete redesign by Michelotti, resulting in a car a foot longer than the TR3 with a wider track, full-width pressed-steel body, power bulge for the carburettors (SU to late '62, Stromberg thereafter), all-synchro 'box, rack-and-pinion steering, and collapsible steering column. Servo brakes, wire wheels, and the Surrey top that anticipated Porsche's famed Targa are options; some cars with 1991cc engine.
