VAUXHALL FIRENZA COUPE (1972-73)

2-door 4-seater coupé.

The original 1971 type of Firenza, up-gunned with larger and more powerful engines, plus better and more comprehensive trim and instrumentation, but the same rather 'unknown' character. Most powerful and most popular were the 2.3-litre Sport SLs, with 110bhp and 103mph, Rostyle wheels, seven-dial instrument panel and so on. But still the enthusiasts bought Capris - Vauxhall despaired, for their competition proframme was only partly successful. Some Firenzas became Magnums for 1974, but the 'droopsnoot', Firenza (see below) was more memorable.
