A new lease of life for the excellent, but now ageing, four bearing 'six' in a unitary hull with torsion bar ifs, three-speed all synchro 'box and a roomy projecting boot. Good points were that it was the best performer in its price/HP class and had the hydraulic brakes the '39 Austin lacked, but against that were its rust and lack of handling.
