The name recalls the proud Flying Squad days, but it's just an Austin 1800 with walnut dashboard, better trim, and power-steering inclusive. Automatic versions have dash-mounted gear selector. Mk II (August '69) with restyled interior and reclining seats loses standard leather trim; there's a high-performance twin-carburettor S version with bigger brakes as well.
