Astons fuel Salon Privé sale

Fever for the famous Newport Pagnell marque shows no sign of abating with the news that RM has consigned 16 Aston Martins to its inaugural Salon Privé sale on 23 June.

Top Aston result is likely to be the ex-works 1939 Aston Martin 2-litre Speed Model (below), built by the factory to compete at Brooklands. Fully rebuilt and prepared, it’s expected to make £ 320 - 380,000.

Also likely to command strong money is a convertible variant of the famous DB4 model – a 1962 example in Vantage spec. Previously owned by actor and diplomat Peter Ustinov, it’s one of just 74 DB4’s without a roof – factors no doubt, behind its lofty £250 – 320,000 guide price.

Other cars among the sale's 55+ lots boasting the DB moniker include three DB2s (one in each body style) and a couple of DB MkIIIs, along with three other DB4s while RM also has a 17,800 miles-from-new DB6 on offer for £90 – 120,000.
