Cantona’s Rolls-Royce art car smashes £17k estimate

A 1984 Rolls-Royce Corniche that features graffiti by New York artist JonOne and belonged to former football legend Éric Cantona has made nearly £140k at Artcurial.

The feisty Frenchman, who is best known as a Manchester United striker – not to mention his infamous kung-fu style kick on an opposing Crystal Palace fan – is also an art lover.

Now an actor and patron of the Abbe Pierre Foundation, Cantona donated the machine to raise funds for the housing charity that aims to help his impoverished countrymen.
