Charles’ Virage to be sold at Bonhams

| 25 Apr 2012

A 1994 6.3-litre Aston Martin Virage Volante that was used by Prince Charles will feature at Bonhams’ Aston Martin Sale at Newport Pagnell on 19 May.

Owned by Aston Martin from new, the Virage was the company’s show car at the 1991 Geneva Motor Show.

Its arrival at AM’s headquarters coincided with the Prince’s latest green project – converting his MkII DB6 to run on bio-ethanol – and it is believed the Virage served as his “courtesy car” from 2007-’08.

The convertible, which has attracted a pre-sale estimate of between £50-70,000 is part of a sale that includes a ’62 DB4 Vantage Convertible and a ’63 DB5 Convertible.
