Historics at Brooklands will have one foot in the not-so-long-ago past as modern classics go under the hammer this Saturday (26 May).
Some of the biggest names in youthful hot hatchery will be represented as a 1989 Golf GTI Convertible (no reserve), a 1.6-litre Peugeot 205 GTI (£4-6000) and a 1.3-litre Fiesta Supersport (£6-8000) all go up for sale.
A clean-looking 1994 Mini Sprite complete with race seats and rollcage serves up a harder-edged option at £3-4000.
Fans of rally-bred hatches might be tempted by this 1989 Lancia Delta HF Integrale (no reserve) or an iconic 1985 Audi Coupe quattro, which the auctioneers reckon could be had for as little as £1800.
Youngtimer sports car fans can choose from a legendary Honda NSX from 1997 (£14-17,000), a classic air-cooled 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Sport (£12,000-16,000) and a Convertible 1990 Ferrari Mondial T (at no reserve).
Alternatively, you could opt for this 1970 Fiat Dino Berlinetta (£12-16000).
Kinder on the wallet would be this 1989 Mercedes 500SL (£3-5000) or a Jaguar XJ-S (£3.5-5000).
Moving back to traditional classics a 1939 Delage (£150-180,000) looks set to top the sale.
