Messerschmitt disinterred after 30 years in a horsebox

Could horsebox finds going to be the new barnfinds? The question is raised by a 1960 Messerschmitt KR200 three-wheeler coming up for sale on 12 April in Sussex.

To be sold by Watsons in Heathfield, the Schmitt has had only two owners from new, the last since 1977. The interesting angle on this car, though, was that when it was laid up in 1981, it wasn't left in a  garage or a barn, but a horsebox.

The 191cc car is engine number 3131830 and chassis 74823 and  has only 6864 miles on the clock. It comes with both ignition and door keys, buff Log book and old blue V5 registration document together with owner's manual, spare parts list dated 1960 and workshop manual.  The guide price £6-8,000.

Also being sold as separate lots are quantities of Messerschmitt spares parts, many unused and still boxed including tyres, side lights, wing mirrors, gaskets etc.
