Wonderful Aston Martin DB MkIII coming up for sale at the NEC

| 28 Oct 2013

A gorgeous Aston Martin DB MkIII that has been owned by the same family from new is to be sold at the NEC in November.

The remarkable survivor has an estimate of £150-170,000 and will be sold by Silverstone Auctions during the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show from 15-16 September.

It was bought new by the vendor’s late father on the 21 May 1958 for £3242 19 shillings and 6p, which included 15 gallons of petrol for just £3.12 and 6p!

From 1997 to 1999 the car was restored at Aston specialist Jack Moss of Four Ashes Garage, including full respray, chrome work and clutch reassembly. It has since also had a "significant" engine rebuild.

The auction house says: "The example offered here is in fantastic condition, boasting a highly original interior and huge history file detailing the entire life of the car."
