Ladies of Bognor Regis Motor Club raise a mint for charity

| 30 May 2017

The ladies of Bognor Regis Motor Club raised £35,000-plus on the 20th and final Regis Classic Tour, bringing the total since it began to an outstanding £523,638.84!

This year’s funds will be divided between Against Breast Cancer and Orchid – Fighting Male Cancer.

The Ladies Go Dutch II, from 31 March-2 April, was based in Rotterdam, as a partial repeat of the 10th running. The first stop was Schoonhoven’s Silver Museum, plus coffee and apple cake at the Hotel Belvedere (where the 10th tour ended), while they again parked in Gouda’s beautiful market square on Sunday.

The Regis Classic Tour Trophy, made by Kevin Law of Orchard Restorations in memory of his wife Liz, was presented to Carole and Ian Potter from Ashbourne, Derbyshire who raised more than £2800.

“There are few younger people joining the BRMC,” said Ali Green on behalf of the organisers, “and this event requires a huge commitment, but it’s better to finish on a massive high – with everyone wanting more – than fade into obscurity.”
