Latin exotics take top honours at Club Motori Italia

| 15 Nov 2012

Chris and Geraldine Edwards won Best Presented Car/Display for their Ferrari Dino 246GT, 365GT 2+2 and Maserati Ghibli SS at the 17th annual Club Motori Italia display in Australia on 10 November.

Called La bella macchina, the Hobart, Tasmania show attracted a wide range of Italian classics including a Lancia Delta Integrale and a Beta coupé, plus more Ferraris such as a 308 and a Testarossa – as well as a pair of Lamborghini Urracos.

Alfa Romeos, Fiats – including a rare 2300S Coupé (below) owned by former Car editor Douglas Blain – and assorted Youngtimer Latins shared space with their more exotic cousins.

CMI secretary David Mitchell said: “The reception and interest in the cars on display was excellent and all is looking well for CMI’s 18th year. The first major competition event in 2013 is the 10th running of the highly popular Collinsvale Hillclimb, held on public roads on the outskirts of Hobart.”
