Alfa Romeo Superflow wins second concours in as many months

The unique 1960 Alfa Romeo 3000CM Pininfarina Superflow IV concept car has been crowed champion at the Warren Classic and Supercar Show just weeks after picking up the Best of Show award at Salon Privé during its UK debut.

The one-of-a-kind former racer stole the show at Warren just as it had at the 1960 Geneva Salon, when it was shown in its fourth and final iteration. Owner Steve Tillack picked up extra points for using the car during the Warren Tour, though the Alfa was already an overwhelming favourite of the judges.

Joint runners up were a 1937 Derby Bentley 4 1/4 Sedanca belonging to Classic & Sports Car’s Simon Taylor, which was driven to the event, and a 1953 Ferrari 250MM Vignale Spider maintained by JD Classics for a European collector.

A supremely stylish 1945 Alfa Romeo 6C-2500 SS belonging to Belgian Raoul San Giorgi was awarded the prize of a studio shoot with Classic & Sports Car. The grey short-chassis, first-series coupe was first owned by Count Felice Trossi.

The Aston Martin class was won by the DB2/4 of Gay and Sandy Doggart, while Peter Read’s 1959 Ferrari 250 PF Coupe came out on top in the Ferrari category.

A Morris Minor 1000 proved a welcome change of pace from the multi-million pound supercars on offer, with the diminutive Brit scooping the top award in the British Classics class. Meanwhile, the recently restored 1953 Triumph TR2 Jabbeke record car of Glenn Hewitt won the Racing category.

Away from the concours lawn, an impressive and varied selection of classics turned up in the public car park, ranging from pre-war Hupmobile coupé through to Metro 6R4.
