B-25 bomber swoops on Wings & wheels

| 4 May 2012

Dunsfold Aerodrome will celebrate its 70th anniversary with the arrival of a B-25 Dutch Mitchell Bomber at this year’s Wings & Wheels show on 26-27 August.

The twin-rudder aircraft’s one and only UK appearance this year marks nearly 70 years since it was based at the airfield to support the Allied assault on occupied Europe.

A celebration of all things automotive and aircraft related, Wings & Wheels will feature demonstrations of more than 200 cars from manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Jaguar, AC, Lotus, TVR, Porsche and Mercedes. There’ll also be a static vehicle show of classic and custom vehicles, military transport and displays from stunt driver Paul Swift.

Meanwhile, the B-25 will head-up more than 90 aircraft including civil and military aerobatic displays and a vintage fly-in.
