Brighton Run success as silver anniversary looms

| 16 Jun 2012

Oldest car on the 24th London to Brighton Classic Car Run on 10 June was  a 1923 Austin Seven Chummy, owned and driven by Brian Cunningham who is to be featured in a forthcoming ITN Tonight programme chatting about his cars.

Hundreds of cars took part in the 70-mile scenic run including Nigel Fisher who has been on every running of it save for the first year in his Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow (below).

He said: "The new organisers have obviously been working very hard to ensure everyone has a great day out. From the start at Brooklands Museum, following a wonderful route down to the finish at Madeira Drive in Brighton, the day was perfect!"

Greenwood Exhibitions’ event director Stephen Smith added: "We are proud to organise the London to Brighton Runs and very pleased with the positive feedback that we have received. We are already working on the 2013 run which will be an extra special occasion to mark the 25th anniversary of the event."
