Brooklands to host big Morris and Austin meet

| 5 Mar 2012

The 19th Morris and Austin Day takes place at Brooklands on 11 March. The cars will ascend the famous Test Hill, park up on the Finishing Straight behind the Wellington Hangar and fill the Paddock, Motoring Village and every other available space.

More than 100 vehicles are expected on the day including the ubiquitous Sevens and Minis, but there will also be some rare variants such as a wartime Austin K2 ambulance and other vehicles adapted for military use.

From the Morris camp, there will be Morris Eights, the Bullnose and some of the commercial vehicles still seen in period film and television dramas today. At the opposite end of the scale will be some Sun-Tor Estate Caravans and Mini Mokes.

To add to the sights and sounds, the museum’s Sopwith Camel  will be brought out of its hangar and started up.
