Car Fest North update: venue announced

| 30 Apr 2012

Cholmondeley Castle will play host to Car Fest North, the celebration of all things automotive that will be held on 8-9 of September.

The brainchild of DJ Chris Evans – who organised Car Fest to stay occupied during Lent – the original Laverstoke Park event proved such a sell-out that a sister event for the north of England was conceived. It will be the third big event of the year for Cholmondeley, which also plays host to the Pageant of Power and the Festival of 1000 Classics.

Drafted in for the weekend’s entertainment on Saturday will be music from Texas, Paloma Faith and The Proclaimers, with Razorlight, The Magic Numbers and Merrymouth on Sunday.

Cholmondeley estate manager James Hall said: “The opportunity to host this exciting new event cements our reputation as the home of high-octane action. Visitors to both will have very different experiences, particularly with the festival feel and music of Car Fest – we are set for an unprecedented adrenalin-filled summer!”
