Classics descend on Luxembourg

| 4 Sep 2012

About 125 participants flocked to Luxembourg for the BIL Classic Tour on 1 September.

The event attracted everything from sports cars in the form of Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, a De Tomaso Pantera and Porsches, to older classics such as a 1936 Bentley, boasting a shortened chassis and a bespoke French body, and a 1938 Bugatti 57.

Jaguar had a big presence thanks to a horde of Mk2s, but there were MGs and Morgans, too. Of particular interest, though, and featuring in this month’s C&SC, was a mighty Chevrolet V8-powered Iso Grifo.

Entrants travelled from Germany, France and Belgium, but it was a stunning Lancia Aurelia B20 GT from Milan that chalked up the highest mileage en route to the event.
