Double Celebration at Beaulieu

| 19 Jul 2012

More than 200 cars attended the National Austin Seven Rally at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu on 1 July.

As well as celebrating the Seven’s 90th anniversary, the event marked the 750 Motor Club’s 50th-consecutive Austin Seven Rally.

Visitors who had attended the first meeting were charged a special entry fee of 30p – equivalent to the six-shilling charge of 1963.

Best in Show was awarded to Mervyn Hoyle for his fully appointed Seven van, which featured immaculate period styling and came complete with a cargo of fresh fruit and veg.

Ian Nelson, leader of the rally’s organising team, said: “We are so pleased that this extra-special double celebration has attracted such great support and that we have seen so many members of the public coming along to enjoy the day and meet the Austin Seven owners. Young and old alike have had a wonderful time.”
