Dymaxion set for Brentford and Goodwood

| 6 Jun 2011

Sir Norman Foster's amazing Dymaxion recreation is to grace two leading concours over the course of the next month.

Already scheduled for the Cartier Style et Luxe concours, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, its planned appearance there has been "scooped" by the vehicle being signed up for Salon Privé, which happens two weeks earlier.

No great surprise, really, considering that Ollie and Dick Crosthwaite of Crosthwaite & Gardiner, which built the car for the renowned architect, are on the selection panel for the West London event.

Wherever you choose to see it, do make the effort because the Dymaxion is extraordinary, representing architect Buckminster Fuller's vision of the future in 1934. With an ash-frame and aluminium "fuselage", the car is powered by a rear-mounted Ford V8 engine and drivetrain.
