An impressive entry list has been announced for a new classic event in London, the St James's Concours of Elegance.
The event, organised by the same team that masterminded the jubilee Windsor Castle UK Concours of Elegance last year, takes place on the Royal lawns of St James's from 5-7 September.
Entries are coming from all over the world – including Mexico and Russia – and include the Grover Williams, Monaco GP-winning 1928 Bugatti Type 35B, the 1953 Mille Miglia-winning Ferrari 340 MM Vignale Spyder and the 1970 Le Mans-winning Porsche 917 Kurzheck.
The racers will be complemented by road cars and a brace of former Land Speed Record cars including René Thomas Delage DH V12 (above), which recorded a speed of 143mph at Arpajon in 1924.
The event – the patron of which is HRG Prince Michael of Kent – aims to build on the £250,000 it raised for charity last year. It will be preceded by a VIP dinner in the State Apartments of St James's Palace.
