Famous Scarborough street circuit to host new classic festival

| 15 Nov 2013

TV presenter Steve Berry has launched a new event promising classic, vintage and super cars, plus motorcycles, scooters, trucks, buses, military vehicles and more.

Taking place in September 2014, the East Coast Classic will be based around the two and a half mile Oliver's Mount circuit close to Scarborough, North Yorkshire, the last-remaining road race circuit left on the UK mainland.

Primarily known for motorcycle racing, Oliver's Mount did host four-wheeled F3 racing in the 1950s, though it has held hillclimbs and rallies since, and is said to be the longest circuit in the UK.

There will be a series of themed track sessions including Supercar Sixty, Driftastic and Maestros of the Mount, but enthusiasts will also have a chance to parade their classic vehicles on the same circuit.

Off-track there will be static displays, a funfair, food stalls and more.
