Ferrari F40s will turn Silverstone red

| 16 Jul 2012

A record-breaking 70 Ferrari F40s will parade around the Grand Prix circuit at this weekend’s Silverstone Classic powered by the AA.

The lap will celebrate the 200mph, twin-turbocharged supercar’s 25th anniversary.

It will be the headline act in a list of parades that will include Lamborghinis – such as the Miura, Espada and Countach – in recognition of 25 years of the Lamborghini Club UK, plus more than 130 AC Cobras.

British cars will be out in force as MGBs, Lotus Elans and Triumph Spitfires also mark their 50th year and on Sunday 175 classics  - part of the AA Grand Tour – will take their turn to travel round the famous track.

Event director Nick Wigley said: “These stunning parades have become an integral part of the Silverstone Classic and it’s going to be great to see so many fine classics from different eras strutting their stuff on the full Grand Prix circuit.”
