Glorious Packard headlines Keeneland Concours

| 17 Apr 2012

The star of Keeneland’s 2012 Concours d’Elegance is set to be this stunning 1934 Packard 1101 Coupe Roadster – fitting because the event on the 21 July pays tribute to Packard this year.

Joining a wealth of Packards at the 9th running of the concours will be more than 150 classics including a 1957 Bel Air convertible with a rain-sensing roof and a “cigarette-ash evacuation system”, a Muntz Jet sports car and an air-conditioned 1948 Nash Ambassador.

Held at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, the concours features vehicles competing in 18 classes of classic, vintage and exotic cars and motorcycles.

Packard Autos will be divided into post and pre-war classes. A Racing Class with historic NASCARs and a Motorcycle Preservation class will also feature.

Event chairman Tim Jones said: “We’re thrilled with the support we have received from Lexington and the surrounding area as more and more people visit the show and surrounding events each year. We expect an even bigger year with our 2012 show.”
