Heritage Motor Centre to go slot car crazy

| 9 Apr 2015

A two-day event celebrating pint-sized miniature racers – the UK Slot Car Festival – will return to the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon on 16-17 May. Dozens of playable layouts will cover a broad spectrum of motor racing, ranging from rally stages and oval banger tracks to drag strips, plus there will be live demonstrations by the National Scalextric Collectors’ Club.

In addition to trying your hand at slot-car racing, an enormous retail area and countless trade stands will be the perfect place to buy, sell and swap cars, as well as seeing the latest releases from manufacturers such as Scalextric, Carrera, SCX, Slot.it and NSR Slotfire.

“We are delighted to once again support one of the biggest slot car events in the world,” said Scalextric’s Jim Proctor-Bain. “We look forward to meeting fellow slot-car fans and showcasing our exciting new lines.”

His thoughts were echoed by show manager Tom Caren: “The UK Slot Car Festival is a fantastic hands-on weekend for all the family to enjoy. As well as appealing to slot racers, collectors and car fanatics, the event is a great way for those new to the hobby to see what it’s all about.”

Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £8 for children aged 16 and under, while under fives will be admitted at no charge.
