Land Speed Record holder headlines Andrew Whyte Lecture

World Land Speed Record holder Andy Green OBE is the main speaker at the the 2012 Andrew Whyte Lecture on Sunday 25 November.

The daredevil Wing Commander will give a graphic account of what it's like to drive at over 670mph.

Other speakers at the 24th lecture include former Jaguar fleet sales manager Pat Smart, who will will relate stories from his years at Browns Lane, including supplying cars to the Royal Family.

Jaguar engineers will the bring the audience up to date with the latest developments in a rapidly expanding Jaguar before the event is rounded off by 92-year-old Norman Dewis.

The test-driving legend will recall taking part in the 1952 Mille Miglia in the experimental disc-braked C-type. He and Sir Stirling Moss are thought to be the oldest surviving MM driver/co-driver pairing.

The Lecture takes place at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant visitor centre, doors opening at 1pm for a prompt 2pm start.
