Microcar collection opens its doors for the first time

| 27 Jul 2016

The Maidstone-based Hammond Collection will launch its Annual Open Day this month (30-31 July) by opening its doors to the public for the very first time.

The collection houses an incredible set of 47 diminutive road cars, ranging from the Manx-built Peel P50 – the smallest production car in the world – though to the original Fiat Multipla, plus countless other oddities rarely seen outside its walls.

In addition to being able to see the collection for the first time, visitors are also invited to take part in a microcar road run, which is set to pass through local villages before returning to School House Farm for evening entertainment and refreshments.

A raffle will be run in order to raise funds for the preservation of the collection’s archives, while donations will be gratefully received – there is no charge to attend.
