Porsche and Honda to reign at Race Retro

| 18 Oct 2011

Next year’s Race Retro at Stoneleigh will celebrate 30 years of two major racing influences: Porsche’s iconic 956 and the Honda Racing Corporation.

The Group C racer’s phenomenal track achievements and Honda’s success across multiple strands of competition will form the centrepiece of the annual International Historic Motorsport Show from 24-26 February.

The 956 (and later 962) displays will form part of a larger Porsche celebration, as the show’s chosen marque, with the Group C cars taking centre stage in hall 2, plus a line-up of race and rally Porsches – from 356 to 911 – forming the show’s focal point in the main hall.

Adding to the Stuttgart festivities will be guest appearances by famous Porsche racers and rally drivers, while a Porsche RSR will be a highlight on the event’s live rally stage.

The event’s third hall will be devoted to Honda’s enduring relationship with all forms of motor sport, with displays including race cars and motorbikes – along with former Honda team drivers, riders and race mechanics, who will be on hand to meet fans of Japan’s most famous racing marque. Visitors will also get to experience the noise of some of the iconic ’bikes in Race Retro’s ‘Fire-up Paddock’.

Adult ticket prices are £20 when booking in advance, or £25 on the gate. Children’s tickets are £5 on Friday or Saturday and free on Sunday.
