Rare classics confirmed for Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

| 1 May 2013

More than 200 competition cars will feature at the sixth Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in Cheshire from 14-16 June.

Highlights on the challenging sprint course are likely to include a 1930 Bentley Blower, the Donington Collection’s W125 (an exacting replica of a Mercedes-Benz W125) and a 1956 Maserati 250F.

Aston Martin will be out in force to celebrate its centenary, with cars including a DB4GT (above), a 1959 DBR4 single-seater and an ex-Sir Jack Brabham 1955 DB2/4 fitted with a DB3S engine.

Modern racers will take to the tarmac, too, in the form of an FW06, the first Williams F1 car, and the Bentley Speed 8 (below), which won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2003.

Car clubs will also be out in force, with 50-plus displays around the castle grounds.

Event director James Hall said: “The Pageant of Power is like no other, celebrating power and performance in all its forms, and nowhere is this mandate fulfilled more thoroughly than with this selection of classic stars.”
