Rare Volvos to showcase company's passion at Techno Classica

| 5 Mar 2013

Swedish manufacturer Volvo is planning to bring six of its most exclusive models to the 25th Techno Classica Essen from 10-14 April.

They include exceptional and unique vehicles such as 1953 Ockelbo-Volvo Sports Racer (which is modelled on a 1950s Ferrari), a 1953 coachbuilt Valbo Convertible (main pic) and a 1963 1800S – the only existing car from the firm painted in test colour number 87.

A 1934 seven-seater Saloon and a 1954 pick-up (based on the estate pictured) provide a practical flavour that fans of the marque are perhaps more accustomed to.

Finally, the 2009 Caresto-built Volvo Hot Rod gives a glimpse into the company’s fun side.

Together, the cars will demonstrate that the manufacturer’s ‘passion’ is (in its own words) ‘a movement that sidelines human or cultural differences’.
