Retromobile: an exclusive preview of the show highlights

| 31 Jan 2012

Here's an exclusive preview of some of the delights at this year's Retromobile, set up and ready to go, just waiting for the doors to open tomorrow morning (Wednesday 1 February).

The T26 Delahaye bodied by Saoutchik and 1939 Paris Salon 165 by Figoni et Falaschi are two of the much-vaunted visitors from the Mullin Museum that also includes the Bugatti Atlantic and Hispano Suiza Xenia.

The Mercedes-Benz 300SL 1952 Le Mans car complete with airbrake (driven by Kling and Klenk) is one of the stars of the Merc stand (main image), while elsewhere F1 ace Olivier Panis is set to unveil a trio of French cars with significant motor sport history.

British dealers always have spectacular stands at the revitalised French show at the Porte de Versailles and among the best this year is Hall & Hall's, sure to get a lot of interest with a Porsche 962 taking centre stage.

The Fiskens stand also looks very tantalising, but we will have to wait until tomorrow to confirm what is under the covers, but there are rumours of something very exciting indeed.

A wonderful Talbot Lago is the star attraction on the Galerie des Damiers display. Originally a Saoutchik design, it now wears a Le Mans body.
