Silver Arrows set to amaze at Amelia Island

Sir Stirling Moss has been revealed as the headline Honouree of the Amelia Island Concours, taking place from 13-15 March 2015 – almost two decades since the racing legend opened the inaugural event in 1996.

To mark the occasion, event organisers have gathered a stunning collection of the driver's racing cars, including the Mercedes-Benz 300SLR in which he won the 1955 Mille Miglia, Tourist Trophy and Targa Florio.

The W196 Monoposto in which he won his first World Championship Grand Prix – his home event at Aintree – will join the 300SLR, while the streamliner in which he led at Monza – his last Formula One race for Mercedes – will also be on display.

"Sir Stirling Moss set us on our path in 1996," said event founder Bill Warner. "To have him and his Mercedes-Benz racers from the manufacturer's highly successful 1955 season on the field is a fantasy come true for us."

In addition to the Silver Arrows collection, more than 300 collector cars are expected to be on show at the event, which takes over The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton from 13-15 March.
