Suzuki day comes to Finmere

| 14 Aug 2012

More than 2500 cars are expected to come together in celebration of this year’s Suzuki Day, which will be held on Sunday at Finmere Airfield near Buckingham.

The event will share its space with the Milton Keynes Car Show and there’ll be a special display from Suzuki GB. It’ll be turning back the clock with cars such as the Whizzkid. Its rear-wheel drive and rear-engined layout means we’ve always been fans.

The company’s accomplished 4x4, the wheel-on-each-corner Jimny, will also be on display in the form of the ‘Heaven-can-wait-I'm-busy' expedition. Formed by  owners of the small off-roader, the team plans to travel 20,000 miles around the top of the world in aid of Save The Children.

Possibly the most famous Suzuki in the world – Top Gear’s ‘reasonably priced car’, the Liana – will also be on show. It’s still used to test the mettle of F1 drivers. All the firm’s latest two-wheeled machinery will also be on show and organisers expect more than 350 ’bikes to visit the event.

There’ll be flyweight and Suzuki-powered Radical sports cars, plus trade stands, dynamic displays from Swift Rally and Rally Cross cars, Ignis track cars, modified SJ and Vitara 4x4s, RM-Z Motocross ’bikes and Mclean Racing’s three drag ’bikes.

Entry for spectators is free, find out more here.
