Testa Rossa at Salon Privé

Carlos Monteverde's 1958 Ferrari 250 ‘Pontoon Fender’ Testa Rossa is to feature at Salon Privé this year. With only 21 of the desirable sports racers built, they are actually more scare than a GTO.

The TR has a Colombo-designed 300bhp, 2953 cc SOHC V12 engine fed by six Weber 38 DCN carburettors that propelled it to many a competition success.

This example was sold new to Brazilian Jean-Louis Soares, of the Escuderia Lagartixa – hence its distinctive yellow and green livery. The car boasts a well known and carefully documented history from new, and although it is still raced at some of the world’s most exclusive events, Salon Privé will be a rare opportunity to see the car up close and personal in the UK.
