The genius of Ferdinand Porsche is celebrated in stunning style

An awesome new exhibition has opened in Brussels dedicated to the works of the Porsche family.

Taking place at Autoworld and running until 19 January, the exhibition is called The Heritage: From Electric to Electric, the theme drawing the line between Ferdinand Porsche's pioneering 1901 Lohner-Porsche hybrid and the company's latest 918 prototype.

Wolfgang Porsche was guest of honour at the show put together by Roland d'Ieteren.

There are more than 40 cars on display and, as well as private cars, many of the classics have come out of museums including a wonderful selection of Auto Unions.

They include Wolfy Porsche's 1934 Austro-Daimler, Gmund 356s, 911s and a host of racers from Auto Union, Cisitalia and, of course, Porsche itself.

The cars are complemented by contemporary films, automobile and documentation that give the background to their creation.
