500-strong turnout at London to Brighton Run

This was the largest entry since the 1996 centenary for VCC's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

On 7 November, early risers cheered off the crews from Hyde Park for the 70th run, headed by John Brydon's 1896 Salveston Steamer.

433 out of the 503 starters reached the Madeira Drive finish. One of the first to arrive was BRDC chairman Robert Brooks aboard a 1903 Sunbeam 10/12hp that sold for £321,600 at Bonhams' specialist veteran car auction two days earlier in New Bond Street.
