C&SC readers trickle to Beaulieu

| 13 Dec 2010

Not-too-desirable weather didn't deter the majority of the C&SC reader fleet as they made their way to the first Beaulieu Classic & Sports Car Rally on 3 October.
Only Nick Clark's MkIII Austin-Healey 3000 failed to reach the destination when its dynamo went up in smoke.
The morning started well enough, with a superb range of cars, including Hugh Hill's '53 Lagonda 3 Litre dhc, converging at the C&SC offices before undertaking a scenic tour to the National Motor Museum via Odiham and Alresford.
Pride of Ownership at the event went to David Jessop, who had driven his Volvo 1800S from Yorkshire with wife Liz and daughter Rebecca.
Lotus Elan +2 owner Roy Gillett said: "The drive was a touch wet - and debris-strewn! - but it cleared up at Beaulieu."
