Fangio's Ferrari at Brooklands

Brooklands was packed for Italian Car Day on 1 May, the biggest annual event at the venue.
Among the slew of Fiat Cinquecentos was the fabulous Ferrari 290MM brought by historic racing specialist Tim Samways. Juan Manuel Fangio drove chassis 0626 solo to fourth on the '56 Mille Miglia, despite a flooded cockpit on the wet epic.
Photographer and Jowett fan Jonathan Root brought his apple-green De Tomaso Mangusta. Root spotted it on the club website, flew to Rome to secure the one-owner car and drove it home.
Other attractions included a brace of Monteverdi HS 375s and Dino specialist Mark Devaney's 'live' engine display, which featured a 2-litre V6 running on headers on a test rig.
