Help C&SC raise loads of money for charity

| 2 May 2013

Classic & Sports Car is showing its support for wonderful local charity Shooting Star CHASE by launching a massive fundraising drive.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be auctioning loads of great stuff – some of which money can't buy – on eBay and invite all our friends and readers to bid these items up as high as possible. The first auction should go live today and 100% of the money raised will be going to the charity.

Just some of the things you can look forward to are a full professional studio shoot of your car at C&SC's HQ (worth £1500), a brilliant weekend away including a Morgan to drive, a genuine C&SC-owned classic car (don't get too excited!), loads of tickets to the classic car world's premier events and even a passenger ride up the hill at Goodwood Festival of Speed in Ferrari’s own F12.

We'll be adding to that list, of course, and if you have anything you can donate (material or, as the suits like to say, "experiential") just e-mail the details to james.elliott@haymarket.com ASAP.

We'll be regularly updating this story as well as alerting people on social media when each auctions are starting or ending, but keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages, or just bookmark the special ebay channel  we'll be using for all the listings. For the record, our first auction item is now live: click here to see it and bid!

And please ‘share’ and tell as many people as possible what we are doing.

A bit about our chosen charity

Shooting Star CHASE cares for families with a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. It currently helps more than 600 families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex. Children and their families are supported with care at home or at its two hospices, Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher's in Guildford.

The range of care offered includes: planned short breaks at home and at the children’s hospices; day care, education and special activities; family support and therapies; symptom management and paediatric palliative care; short notice support for families in a crisis; care at the end of a child’s life; bereavement care and support for all the family for as long as they need.

With no guaranteed Government funding Shooting Star CHASE must raise £23,000 a day to continue its vital service.
