New Portuguese classic museum continues to thrive

| 24 Feb 2014

Since opening last September, a new 3000sq m classic motor museum in Portugal is going from strength to strength.

Just 30-minutes drive from Oporto airport, the Famalicão Automobile Museum has more than 100 groundbreaking vehicles on display.

They range from from a 1929 Rolls-Royce to a Maserati Indy, but because many of the exhibits are from private collections, they vary hugely and change frequently.

Among the game-changing cars currently on display are a Ford Model T, a Citroën DS and a 1969 Jaguar XJ6.

As well as the classic cars, there are about 20 motorcycles including  a Dakar Rally stage-winning KTM 660 Rally and a large collection of Indian bikes on loan from the Indian Motorcycle Club of Portugal.

The facility is open from Tuesday to Sunday and tickets cost €2.50 per person or €7.50 per family. Click here for more.
