On sale now – huge new issue of C&SC with free Goodwood supplement

| 5 Sep 2013

The October issue of C&SC is officially on sale in the UK today (Thursday 5 September) with 284 classic-packed pages, plus an extra, free 36-page special celebrating the first 15 years of the Goodwood Revival.

The lead feature is a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime drive around the Scottish roads that moulded one of the greatest racing talents of all time… in his old Jaguar D-type. Not only that, but Julian Balme also met Ian Scott Watson, Jim Clark's first mentor.

Another late, great driver celebrated in the new issue of José Froilán González, the 'Pampas Bull' who Mick Walsh met in his Argentinian homeland.

Steve Sutcliffe pits two bargain Youngtimer performance icons against each other when he tests Lotus Exige and Noble M12, while Andrew Roberts takes a rather more traditional approach to the late-’60s young executive's dilemma by checking out Fiat 125S, Renault 16TS and Ford Cortina 1600E.

The performance quotient is upped somewhat by Simon Charlesworth ,who drives MG's supercharged K3 and J4 back to back, and by Graham Robson, who tells the inside story of Ford's Group B rally legend, the RS200.

There's plenty more features to enjoy, plus the free supplement, of course, and all the latest news, sport and market reports from the classic car world, as well as leading columnists, a TR7/8 buyer's guide and much more.

To kick the issue off, as usual, here is a selection of superb free wallpapers for you – just click on the text above each to download. Enjoy!
