Credit Suisse Racing Forum returns to Goodwood

| 7 Sep 2015

The hotly anticipated Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum will return to the Goodwood Revival for the fourth time on 12 September, bringing together legends and luminaries from the world of motorsport to engage in a spirited discussion on the subject of racing. This year’s topic of dialogue will be ‘Historic Racing Culture: Europe vs America’, with questions for the celebrity guests garnered directly from you.

British racing icon Sir Stirling Moss will lead the panel, which includes five-times Le Mans winner and double world sportscar champion Derek Bell, Grand Prix and Le Mans winner Jochen Mass and former constructor, team owner and Classic & Sports Car contributor Alain de Cadenet.

They will be joined by four-times IndyCar champion and triple Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti.

Past Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forums have covered topics as diverse as drivers’ dream garages and teams, to whether the spirit of historic motor racing is under threat, with previous panels having included Lord March, Anthony Reid, Nick Mason and Emanuele Pirro. Open and lively discourse has been the calling card of the Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum since it was first introduced at the Grand Prix Monaco Historique in 2012, and this year’s event promises to be one of the most exciting to date.

This year’s discussion will be moderated by motoring authority Henry Hope-Frost, and will comprise three questions submitted by Classic & Sports Car readers – all you have to do to have your question considered is to Tweet using the hashtag #RacingForum, or email it directly to greg.macleman@haymarket.com.

While the forum will be conducted behind closed doors at Goodwood’s Race Control, a live stream of the debate will be made available.

The event is also the perfect opportunity for accredited media to capture images for the ‘Credit Suisse Media Moments’ category, in a bid to win the Swiss firm’s coveted Photography trophy.

In addition to Saturday’s Racing Forum, Credit Suisse will also be marking the 60th anniversary of Sir Stirling Moss’ victory at the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, British Grand Prix and RAC Tourist Trophy. The long-term supporter of the Credit Suisse Classic Car Program will be presented with a gift in front of Race Control on Sunday at 9:30am to mark the occasion, with Lord March and Karsten Le Blanc in attendance.
