Festival to celebrate racing’s supreme talents

| 31 Oct 2011

Lord March has revealed the main theme for the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

‘Young Guns – Born to Win’ will be a tribute to the drivers, designers and engineers who became overnight sensations after their remarkable skills and insatiable thirst for speed led to spectacular results on track.

The careers of hot-shoes such as Bernd Rosemeyer, Mike Hawthorn and Emerson Fittipaldi – along with Mike Hailwood and current Formula 1 wonder Lewis Hamilton (below) – will inspire the action from 28 June-1 July.

There will be also be a Lotus line-up to mark 60 years of Colin’s Chapman’s Lotus Engineering, which used technical ingenuity to dominate all levels of motor sport, from club racing to Formula 1.

Goodwood can’t yet confirm which famous Lotuses will be in action but expect a prime collection of winning racers – from Formula 1 and Indycars to saloons and sports cars.
