Fiat crew does the double on Italian historic rally

The Fiat Balilla-mounted Vesco-Guerini team notched up a second successive win on the Gran Premio Nuvolari from 19-22 September.

The 1934 S 508 Sport was cheered into the Piazza Sordello by a large crowd at the end of the 27th running of the event based in Tazio Nuvolari's home town of Mantova.

More than 250 vintage and classic cars from 1919 to 1969 entered the event, which cuts through Umbria and Tuscany and this year was commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Flying Mantuan's death.

This has to rate alongside Goodwood's offerings as one of the finest entrant and spectator-friendly events.

Perfect weather, an amazing entrant list (did you spot Andrea Zagato and Dieter Quester?) plus some of the rarest and unique motorcars you're likely to find competing in Europe.

Top of the bill for us was the Bentley Derby Special which Simon Silver and his co-owner Steven Collins had commissioned (entry No.63).

And providing you don't make a nuisance of yourself you're perfectly entitled to tag along on the road sections.

Total motoring nirvana! :) :)

Can't wait until next year, Pewe.
